The Badminton World Federation has unveiled a modern, eye-catching BWF World Superseries website as the first stage of its internet facelift as the organisation prepares to better service multiple stakeholders.
Featuring many of badminton’s prominent players and full of information on the MetLife BWF World Superseries tournament circuit, the www.bwfworldsuperseries.com site is the place for fans to get timely, accurate news, results, reviews, previews, photos, rankings, profiles, head-to-head comparisons and other interesting data on the sport’s top tour which touches down in 12 cities annually. For the first time this year, the World Superseries concludes in Dubai with the BWF Destination Dubai World Superseries Finals and the new website also provides a wealth of material on the season finale and links to the World Superseries Finals website (http://www.destinationdubai.ae). There is also direct access to title sponsor MetLife’s website (http://global.metlife.com).
This new site will ultimately be one of three sub-sites from a new fans’ website; the others being the World Championships sub-site and the World Team Championships sub-site. In the coming months, the BWF will also roll out a new corporate portal – with a Shuttle Time sub-site to accommodate the growing needs of BWF’s grassroots development programme – and bring online a digital museum to showcase badminton’s history.
All these platforms will be inter-connected and the current BWF website (www.bwfbadminton.org) will continue to function as normal until all the new sites are up and running.
“The BWF’s scope of operations has grown tremendously in recent years and we needed to modernise and expand our online platforms to respond to the organisation’s rapid development. We have been planning and working on this network of websites for some months now and we have pleased to unveil this first phase,” said BWF Secretary General Thomas Lund.
“We invite everyone to check out the World Superseries site and we look forward to feedback from all our stakeholders as we move to the next stage of implementation. These sites will be a significant part of BWF’s identity as we move into the future and we are keen to ensure they satisfy the needs of most, if not all, of our stakeholders.”
