Jason Ho-Shue did the star turn for Canada as he led his team to the XXI Pan Am Championships Team Competition title on Sunday in a 3-0 result over Brazil.
Ho-Shue achieved the initial breakthrough in Men’s Singles, beating Ygor Coelho de Oliveira 21-19 21-13.
Canada, minus longtime spearhead Michelle Li, fielded Brittney Tam in her place; Tam was a comfortable winner over Fabiana Silva, 21-14 21-14.
Ho-Shue returned for the Men’s Doubles with Nyl Yakura. Their opponents, Hugo Arthuso/Fabricio Farias, grabbed the initiative taking the first game before Ho-Shue and Yakura settled down and pulled off a hard-fought win, 16-21 21-13 21-15.
USA beat Peru 3-0 for third place.
