Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna, who surprised world champion Manasi Joshi at the recent Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Dubai Para Badminton International, has jumped up two places in the latest BWF Para Badminton World Rankings.
Kozyna sensationally won the women’s singles Standing Lower (SL3) title beating Joshi in the final, and has consequently moved up to No.6 in the rankings. Joshi remains No.2, behind top-ranked compatriot Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar, while Turkey’s Halime Yildiz is No.3.
Indonesia’s Leani Ratri Oktila continues to be ranked No.1 in all her three categories. Oktila had won a double in Dubai – in the women’s singles SL4 and women’s doubles (SL3-SU5) with Khalimatus Sadiyah, while finishing runner-up in mixed doubles (SL3-SU5) with Hary Susanto.

Megan Hollander (Netherlands), winner of the women’s singles Standing Upper (SU5) title in Dubai over Palak Kohli, has moved up three places in the rankings.
The rankings include points from Para badminton tournaments of 2019, until the next edition of each tournament is played in 2021.
The last qualifying tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games is the Spanish Para Badminton International in Cartagena (10-16 May 2021).

Qu Zimo of China.
- China’s Qu Zimo is ranked No.1 in two categories – the men’s singles Wheelchair (WH1) and the men’s doubles (WH1-WH2) with Mai Jianpeng. Others who are ranked No.1 in two categories include Sarina Satomi (Japan), Pramod Bhagat (India) and Carmen Giuliana Poveda Flores (Peru).
- Para badminton stars Kim Jungjun (Korea) and Liu Yutong (China) head the singles rankings in the men’s and women’s Wheelchair (WH2) categories respectively, while Kim’s close rival Chan Ho Yuen (Hong Kong China) is nearly 1000 points behind the Korean.
- England’s Jack Shephard heads the men’s singles Short Stature (SH6) rankings; in doubles, Shephard is No.7 with Krysten Coombs.
