The innovative Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton League is set for a heady finish with the Grand Final on Saturday 1 May.
With the Grand Final being played at the Skycity Theatre in a casino in the heart of Auckland, the NZ Badminton League is sure to catch the attention of fans and laypeople alike.
A new scoring format (3×11) is being used, adding to the uniqueness of the event, and both players and fans have responded positively to its fast pace and increase in critical points.

The league has seen four teams in action – Tiger Brokers Tigers, Starship Rockets, Plenty Bay Whales and Mighty Jazz Apples. Tiger Brokers Tigers, coached by Bjorn Siegeund, and Starship Rockets, coached by Fanny Megahwati, will contest the final and the lion’s share of the $20,000 prize money.
