The BWF is closely monitoring the current state of the BWF World Rankings before initiating a transition towards a live 52-week ranking.

This includes assessing the robustness of the tournament calendar to ensure there are adequate competitive opportunities across the different tournament levels, especially for those who are lower ranked.

BWF is looking at several options to complete this transition, involving different time frames over several weeks and months. However, it will depend on this assessment of the calendar and the point at which the transition begins, to determine the length of the transition period.

BWF will make a further announcement once a decision has been made.
